Chester

I went to Chester today to have an interview at the University. Well, alright it wasn't me exactly who had the interview but I just went along for the ride. I went on a bus while I was there, which is something I don't do very often, and I had a nice conversation with a lady who was going into hospital for a knee operation. I suppose I'm just the sort of baboon who is a good listener.

I wandered round the Rows, sort of two tier shops which were built in the middle ages. I wonder if I am the first baboon to come here since then? As you can see I had my photo taken near the famous clock tower on Eastgate. This was created for the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is said to be the most photographed clock in Britain, after Big Ben, which, co-incidentally I have also been photographed in front of.

Harrogate

Had a nice trip to Harrogate today and met a lot of interesting and somewhat bemused people. Anyone would think they had never met a baboon at a meeting before!

Bangladesh

I went to Bangladesh for the last two weeks of November as part of a Habitat for Humanity project working alongside a Bangladeshi family in the Jessore district (south western Bangladesh) as they built themselves a house, using local materials to create an environmentally friendly and durable home. The local children had great fun playing with me.

We also went on a trip to the Sunderban National Park - the largest Mangrove forest in the world.

We flew via Doha (Qatar) to Dhaka, then to Jessore and the Sunderban - a round trip of 12,142 miles.

Korean Kulture!

Here's me at one of the palaces in Seoul - we went here on our first morning in Korea, and walked past it on our last night - just after we went to a theatre to see a traditional Korean play. They even got Jeff up to throw and catch plates across the stage - he was still shaking when he took this picture :o)

Moo-nen!

Luckily for us, we have a friend in Seoul - Chris - who showed us around, how to cook and eat local food and to all the nicest places to see local customs. He went to school with Jeff and introduced us to another Wayne Valley alumnus - Jamie! Chris is a great friend and I hope I will see him again soon :o)

What a fantastic trip! I stayed at Manchester airport, then flew to Paris and then on to Seoul! A total of 6,184 miles. We saw so many fantastic things, and met some lovely people. We travelled to Andong, Gyeongju and then back to Seoul - all in all, a round trip of 12,768 miles!

27th September 2009 - Leighton Buzzard

Here I am in Leighton Buzzard. I have had a lovely weekend visiting Grandma Parsons and seeing the sights of nearby Heath and Reach and Milky Beans (a.k.a. Milton Keynes). I have had a relaxing walk among the autumn leaves and generally been monkeying around in the garden. Cumulative miles - 1621.6

The Gherkin

I love London! There are so many things to see and do, so I'm really pleased to be able to go there quite often. This time I saw the Gherkin - a big building which is all multi-coloured.

18 September 2009, London

Off to London again today - but much better weather. Deborah and I saw the Houses of Parliament and took a picture of ourselves with Big Ben in the background. Several people thought we were mad.

London - 15 September 2009

Today I went to London with Neil. It rained a lot. The conference was about Total Plaice, and not very interesting.

The best bit was going to Platform 93/4 at King's Cross Station - the one where the trains go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Lake District trip

My first outing with one of the team! Kay took me to meet her in-laws and visit the Lake District. We had wonderful weather, took boat trips on the lakes and even did some hiking. We took in Garforth, Windermere, Keswick and Loweswater.
